I am testing how quickly I can remember my Basic Facts.

I need to remember my Basic Facts because they are the
knowledge I need to help me with strategies to solve Maths
problems.

On Monday I got 44/60. On Thursday I got 50/60.

  1. Kia ora Siaosi,

It is great to see that you have been practicing your maths skills this year in class. Congratulations on achieving 50/60 on your test on Thursday. That is an improvement of 6 marks over the test that you took on Monday. Way to go!

If you would like to continue practicing your maths (and literacy) skills this summer, please consider joining our free blogging programme. The Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) programme is open to all Year 4-8 students at Saint Pius X school and it's a lot of fun!

The topic of the SLJ programme this year is the world around us. We are learning all about this amazing country that we call home, New Zealand, and about issues related to the environment. There are 60 different activities for you to choose from this year. They can all be found on our Summer Learning Journey programme website (www.summerlearningjourney.co.nz) under the 'Weekly Activities' tab. The activities are divided into four weeks (15 activities per week). Feel free to check them out and to choose one that interests you.

To complete the activity, you can post your answer here on your blog. Our team will read your post and provide a comment. We will also give you points and come back at the end of the summer with prizes for the top bloggers at Saint Pius X school. We have some pretty cool prizes this year!

I hope that you will have time to join us on our learning journey.

See you online soon, I hope!

    Best,
    Rachel :)
